Chinese Herbal Medicine Recognition Using a VCSEL-Based Time-Delay Reservoir Computing System

چکیده
We numerically investigate the performance of Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) recognition using a time delay reservoir computing (TDRC) system consist vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) subjected to optical feedback. A database 960 images from 12 CHM categories is used evaluate performance, most which contain many samples and have different backgrounds. The image feature vector masked optically injected into VCSEL, VCSEL output in two polarization modes are sampled as virtual node states for readout. After testing TDRC under injecting same information we further test parallel processing by half each modes. By concatenating collected readout, speed doubled. Meanwhile, influence key parameters on investigated relationship between idle state also examined. results show that, orthogonal feedback, achieves minimum error 1.7% at rate 2×10 9 per second.

متن کاملReservoir computing with a single time-delay autonomous Boolean node
We demonstrate reservoir computing with a physical system using a single autonomous Boolean logic element with time-delay feedback. The system generates a chaotic transient with a window of consistency lasting between 30 and 300 ns, which we show is sufficient for reservoir computing. We then characterize the dependence of computational performance on system parameters to find the best operatin...

متن کاملChinese herbal medicine for endometriosis.
BACKGROUND Endometriosis is characterized by the presence of tissue that is morphologically and biologically similar to normal endometrium in locations outside the uterus. Surgical and hormonal treatment of endometriosis have unpleasant side effects and high rates of relapse. In China, treatment of endometriosis using Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) is routine and considerable research into the r...
متن کاملEvidence Based Medicine and Herbal Medicine
Evidence based medicine (EBM) can be found as far back as the 1940s. However, it was in 1972 that the concept first came into play, originated by Professor Archie Cochrane, in his book, Effectiveness & Efficiency: Random Reflections on Health Services. This was the foundation for evidence based research, and in 1992 a facility was funded by the UK government, with the aim of performing r...
